For the Vaganova Ballet Academy Winter Intensive 2025,
we have prepared a dedicated application form for those
who wish to request private lesson.
To All Winter Intensive Participants!

We are offering a wide range of special private lessons during the Winter Intensive to help you refine your ballet skills.

These lessons are recommended for those who want personalized guidance from professional instructors in each field, or for those who want to study movements and choreography in greater detail for the final graduation concert.


Lesson Fee

Each 20-minute lesson costs ¥22,000 (tax included).

A maximum of 6 lessons per instructor (total 2 hours) can be booked per person.

Example of how many lessons one participant can book:

  • 6 lessons with Ms. Sofia
  • 3 lessons with Ms. Tatiana

Please select your desired lesson(s) from the application form.

Your booking will be confirmed after payment is received.

The private lesson schedule will be sent before the Winter Intensive begins.

Staff will support the children during the period.


Lesson times: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM (start times may vary by day)

Interpretation in Japanese or English will be provided.

If you are requesting a  variation lesson, please write the variation name

and bring the music on the day.

Please note that refunds are not available after payment.

Payment and Refunds:

Refunds are not available after payment.

Ballet Class & Advice on Advanced Elements
Ms. Tatiana Kurenkova is one of the most experienced instructors at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, where she has taught for many years.
Her students have gone on to shine on stages around the world.
This special private lesson can be taken in one of two formats:
  • Ballet Class: For those who want to improve technique, musicality, and expression.
  • Advice on Advanced Elements: Focused on movement structure, body usage, and detail refinement based on the Vaganova Method.
Even a short one-on-one session with her can be a major step toward deepening your understanding of classical ballet.
When applying, please select your preferred lesson format:

Private Lesson with Ms. Yulia Kamilova

Character Dance, Historical Dance, Classical Ballet & Variations
Ms. Yulia Kamilova is an instructor at the Vaganova Ballet Academy, a current soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre, and an educator continuing research at the graduate level.
She currently teaches character dance at the Vaganova Ballet Academy and is highly regarded for her teaching skills.
In her lessons, she provides detailed explanations of movements and demonstrates them vividly herself, allowing students to quickly grasp the “character” of the movements.
For classical ballet and variations, she offers valuable advice not only on technique but also on enhancing artistic expression.

Private Lesson with Ms. Sofia Gumerova

Classical Repertoire and Performance Expression
Ms. Sofia Gumerova — Honored Artist of Russia, Principal Soloist at the Mariinsky Theatre (1995–2017).
She has starred in productions such as GiselleLa BayadèreSwan LakeSpartacusLegend of Love, and the Carmen Suite, and has also performed in works by Balanchine and Fokine.
A graduate of the Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of Lyudmila Kovalyova), she now teaches performance expression at the Eifman Ballet Academy and conducts masterclasses in Russia, Japan, Taiwan, and across Europe.
Her teaching combines technique and stage expression, helping dancers develop their individuality and artistry.
