Support Our Mission
The Japan Vaganova Ballet Association (commonly known as JVBA) is the sole official partner in Japan of the Russian State Vaganova Ballet Academy. Our activities are dedicated to:

● Providing educational programs based on the Vaganova Method
● Collaborating with ballet educational institutions both in Japan and abroad
● Fostering the next generation and promoting international exchange through ballet

Ballet is an art form of high educational value. It not only nurtures self-expression and artistry through dance but also gives children dreams and cultivates the strength to persevere through sustained effort. To pass on this important culture to the future, we are engaged in the following initiatives.

To Everyone Involved in Ballet Education

We extend our sincere gratitude for your daily dedication to nurturing the next generation through ballet. In Japan's ballet education landscape, where formal qualification systems are absent, each of you strives to provide high-quality instruction based on your own accumulated experience and knowledge. We deeply respect your passion and efforts.

However, the environment surrounding ballet education is undergoing significant transformation. The global standardization of ballet pedagogy is advancing, and the demand for learning internationally recognized methods like the Vaganova Method is increasing among both students and parents. In such times, it is crucial not only to preserve tradition but also to incorporate new, reliable knowledge and systems.
The Japan Vaganova Ballet Association (JVBA) serves as a bridge to the Vaganova Method, the world's most systematic ballet teaching methodology. We aim to support your educational activities by providing the following:

  • Opportunities for Learning Authoritative Methodology: Through workshops and seminars led by instructors from the Vaganova Ballet Academy, we offer chances to learn the correct Vaganova Method and its teaching techniques.
  • Enhancing Educational Quality: By deepening understanding of a globally standardized methodology, we help improve the quality and credibility of individual instruction.
  • Expanding Students' Future Potential: We create pathways for students who wish to pursue ballet professionally, such as through official auditions for the Vaganova Academy, thereby supporting the broadening of their future options.
We believe that by combining your invaluable practical experience with an authoritative, systematic methodology, we can elevate the standard of ballet education in Japan as a whole. Together, let us nurture talented individuals who can shine on the world stage.
We sincerely hope for your understanding and cooperation in our activities.
