The Japan Vaganova Ballet Association (JVBA) is the official partner of the
Vaganova Ballet Academy in Japan. Founded in 2018, our association aims to promote the Russian ballet education style throughout the Asian region.
Our mission is to preserve and develop classical ballet, nurture young talent, and foster cultural exchange. Since our establishment, we have organized annual masterclasses, concerts, and internships for students and teachers, providing valuable opportunities for professional growth.
An essential part of our activities involves volunteer projects, including the translation of Russian ballet literature, the adaptation of ballet films for Japanese audiences, and the restoration of classical heritage, including forgotten works by Marius Petipa.
One of our primary goals is to spread knowledge about the teaching methodology of Agrippina Vaganova, recognized as the global standard in classical ballet education. Through JVBA programs, many students have been admitted to the Russian Vaganova Ballet Academy, where they receive world-class training essential for a successful professional career in ballet.
Starting in 2024, we will expand our reach to other Asian countries, inviting participants from neighboring regions to join our programs and collaborate with us. We take pride in contributing to the promotion of ballet, organizing gala performances, reviving forgotten masterpieces, and bridging the gap between tradition and contemporary art.
JVBA serves as a platform to nurture talent, unlock potential, and bring the world of ballet to new generations.
We love ballet and art and invite everyone to join us in this wonderful journey!
