Japan Vaganova Ballet Association

Japan Vaganova Ballet Association (JVBA) is official partner of the Vaganova Ballet Academy in Japan and ASIA region.


Since 2018, we have been conducting ballet camps, intensives, master-classes helping with admission and promoting talented children, conducting regular ballet classes for children, adults and ballet teachers.


We love ballet and art and invite everyone to join us in this wonderful journey.

    Vaganova Academy current teacher
    Elena Zabalkanskaya has been teaching our participants since the very beginning of the project. She is a very kind yet demanding instructor. She gladly shares with students her many years of experience performing on the stage of the Mariinsky Theatre and teaching within the Vaganova Ballet Academy.

    Tatyana Solomyanko is a wonderful teacher for girls. After her lessons, students are always filled with grace and ease. Tatyana’s concert pieces are also always polished and professional. The children gain invaluable experience, which they can immediately apply on any stage in the future.

    Viktor Gryaznov is a highly intelligent and refined teacher. He explains every element of classical dance in a very clear yet meticulous way.     Yulia Kamilova is a unique teacher who continues to perform on stage. She always dances every combination alongside her students at full pace, which is incredibly important for beginner dancers. She also explains the nuances of national dances.

    Yulia Zaitseva has been teaching historical dance at the Academy for many years. She knows all the intricacies of the poses and character of that era better than anyone. Our students absorb every word and gesture she shares, and later perform on stage like true professionals.
  • Dmitry Pykhachev

    Dmitry Pykhachev is a brilliant performer of character roles in ballet. He both dances at the Mariinsky Theatre and teaches at the Academy. Teachers of his caliber in acting and character dance are rare, even in Russia, let alone other countries. It’s a unique opportunity to take lessons from him.

    Daria Vergizova, a renowned choreographer in the world of dance, always finds time to participate in our program.     Maria tours extensively and is known in many countries. A refined ballerina, she loves teaching and sharing her secrets on how to keep an artist’s body in top condition for a long-lasting career. During her classes, everyone gives their best, and afterward, there’s an opportunity to ask Maria questions in an interview.

    Alina is a videographer with a divine talent. To fully understand the nuances of ballet movements, she regularly takes ballet classes herself. In her videos, students transform from beginners into true professionals. Alina is the best ballet videographer in Russia.

  • Kanon Karita
    Interpretor
    Kanon graduated from the Vaganova Academy and later danced in a professional Russian theater. She is always positive and responsive to the participants’ requests. In her free time, she enjoys vlogging.
  • Eriko Saginuma
    Team work
    Eriko is a teacher of English and Russian. During the program, she always helps all students with their schedules and any questions that arise. She is kind yet strict, like a mom.
  • Ayami Oki
    Interpreter
    Ayami is a professional, certified ballet teacher. She understands the meaning behind every word spoken by the Vaganova Academy teachers most closely and accurately, as she is a graduate of the Academy herself.
  • Asuka Tokuyama

    Asuka is a professional journalist who has long been covering events in Russia for Japan. During our program, she combines her passion for storytelling with helping children better understand Russian culture.

Ballet camps and intensives
It is the intended result of the complete process of presentation of textual material in order to communicate meaning.
Our students have the chance to perform on the historic stage where most of the world’s ballet stars began their professional journeys.
Students will learn the fundamentals of traditional Russian ballet artistry and stylistic beauty through the study of ballet history, Russian language, music, history and anatomy
You will have the chance to take master classes from world famous ballet dancers
You will have the opportunities to audition for famous Russian style ballet schools in the world at the end of summer camp
Students will receive direct instructions on a wide variety of lessons, including classical ballet, character dance, historical dance, contemporary dance and acting. Teachers from Vaganova Ballet Academy will teach students the most traditional Russian style ballet
